Ancestor Project

Founded in 2006

The Ancestor Project is a non-profit organisation that seeks to empower and educate African youth by encouraging a dialogue between creatives and participants.
The organisation also aims to contribute to the promotion and preservation of tangible and intangible African cultural heritage. Since its inception as a cultural movement in 2006.
The Ancestor Project registered as a non-profit organisation in 2019, and has since embarked on a lot of massive and extensive education, empowerment and cultural preservation programmes and activities.

The most notable of these is the Nkyinkyim Museum in Ada-Ghana, whose centre-piece is the globally acclaimed Nkyinkyim Installation, created by The Ancestor Project founder, Kwame Akoto-Bamfo.
